Reports DoubleClick Looking at a Sale or IPO

According to reports from the Wall Street Journal, online advertising company DoubleClick is exploring a sale and is currently in active talks with Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), among others. The company may also consider an IPO.

DoubleClick is majority owned by private equity firm Hellman & Friedman, which bought the company in 2005 for about $1.1 billion. Link

Baidu.com (BIDU) Higher Following Note on Possible Microsoft Deal

Shares of Baidu.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: BIDU) are higher this morning after Piper Jaffray said the company could announce a deal with Microsoft that will include China Netcom and China Telecom shortly. BIDU is 6% higher in early action.

Rediff.com (REDF), Sify (SIFY) Takeover Rumors Are Back

The stockrumors.com blog is regurgitating old rumors that Rediff.com India Ltd. (Nasdaq: REDF) and Sify Ltd. (Nasdaq: SIFY) could be buyout bait, suggesting they've been increasing lately. The post goes over scenarios from a buyout by Yahoo (Nasdaq: YHOO), Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) and Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and discusses a possible LBO, which they say is less likely. Link
