Dow Chemical (DOW) Higher on LBO Rumor

According to reports from the UK's Sunday Express, a consortium including Middle Eastern investors and American buyout firms is preparing a $50 billion offer for Dow Chemical (NYSE: DOW). The paper said the offer could range between $52-$58 per share.
A follow-up report from Bloomberg, noted that Dow spokesman Huntley said the company has no interest in an LBO and plans to remain public.

Dow Chemical (DOW) Higher on Reports of Private Equity Bid

Shares of Dow Chemical Co. (NYSE: DOW) are higher in pre-open action on rumors reported in the Sunday Express that the company could be the target of a leveraged buyout.
The paper said the company could receive a $54 billion bid from a consortium of private equity buyers that could include KKR, Blackstone and Carlyle Group. The bid could come in at $60 per share the paper reported.

Sangamo (SGMO) May Be Next Biotech Takeover - BusinessWeek

According to BusinessWeek's Inside Wall Street column, Navdeep Jaikaria, a biotech analyst at Rodman & Renshaw, thinks Sangamo (Nasdaq: SGMO) could be the next biotech takeover following the recent string of deals. The company harnesses a natural cellular process aimed at regulating or modifying disease-related genes in humans and other organisms and already has partnerships with Pfizer (NYSE: PFE), Dow Chemical (NYSE: DOW) and Edwards Lifesciences (NYSE: EW).
